Outside exercise like running a certain distance can be a great way to workout, be physically fit, and even reduce weight. You don't need any gear or pay an excessive fee just to be a member of a gym.

Running is the perfect outdoor exercise. Running not only makes you physically fit but also gives you a chance to have an expanded view of your new city. Running new routes allows you to be more familiar with your new town. The only tricky problem attached to running in a new town is finding safe, secure, less crowded, and enjoyable running paths.

Below are tips that will help you in mapping out a safe 5k run in a new town:

  1. Have a chat with a local: Make friends with the people who have been living in that town for a while. Ask them about the safe routes in the city suitable for a 5k run. The locals already know their town inside out. Make sure you ask them if there's a popular running path that is totally safe and not too crowded.
  2. Use a mobile app: With the technology advancements, you gain access to almost any information needed. There are lots of mobile applications to help you map safe 5k routes. For example, check out All trails, Realbuzz, Strava's global heat map, iSmoothRun, Endomondo, MapMyRun, Runkeeper, Runstatic, or Couch to 5K.
  3. Check online for recommendations: You can research online for a specific trail you want to map out for a safe 5k run. People's reviews and testimonies go a long way in helping you. Try using Yelp to searching for “running trails.” Local runners use the site to post their recommendations.
  4. Find a running friend or a running group: You can run with a friend or a group to be able to check the environment personally to know if it is indeed safe or less crowded. Local athletic shoe stores often know of running trails and groups to join. Check at work, the local library, or Meetup to see if they keep a list.
  5. Do adequate research on the route: If the path you’ve chosen leads through public parks, neighborhoods, or trails, take time to locate any posted rules. Certain courses may have hour restrictions, and some locales may have regulations about running on school property during school hours. Introduce yourself to the school office or stop by the city’s parks and recreation department. You’ll meet new friends while finding the information you need.

It's no news that termites and white ants cause severe damages to the home. They might attack your house in no time. Hence, termite control has become one of the necessities to prevent the termites from invading your house. Some people control termites by using chemicals in residential areas or working places, where they can survive and breathe.

Important things to know about termites

  • Termites generally lay their eggs in the spring season. They give eggs in the moist soil and then enter the house to provide some nourishment to them. Therefore, it is better to control termites before the beginning of spring season. However, be careful as termites can attack in any season.
  • Two places to look for termites are the kitchen and the bathroom because in these two areas there is maximum use of water. Regularly check the pipes and taps for leakage. If you own a house or farm made of wood, then controlling termite infestation should be your top most priority. It is one of the crucial issues or problems faced by homeowners.

Primarily, start with termite prevention. If you do not have termites, it does not mean that you cannot have them. So, stop them from invading your crops or properties. To prevent the termites, you have to make your home an unfavorable hideout for termites. Following are some ways of preventing termites from invading your house:

  1. Trim all dense greenery, bushes, and shrubs away from your property's foundation.
  2. Never leave ?rewood around your house; it works as a magnet for attracting termites. If you have to keep ?rewood outside your home during the winter season, then keep it at some height off the ground.
  3. Remove all loose woods, tree stumps and lumber from the boundary of your home.
  4. Keep downspouts and gutters free of accumulated debris and leaves. As termites cannot survive on wood only, keeping these areas clean will prevent termites from invading your house. Obstructions and clogs attract termites.
  5. Seal all holes and any cracks in the foundation of your home. Termite prevention is possible only if you keep your house ventilated, particularly the attics of the house. Your rooms should be spacious enough to have the right circulation of air, as moisture attracts termites. Never allow water to be stored anywhere around your house as it may lead to severe house damage.

It is always better to opt for termite prevention before the construction of your property. If you plan to construct a house entirely from wood, then ensure to use treated wood. Borate is one of the most common treated woods that prevent the termite from invading them as their food. Do not allow the wood to have any contact with the earth because this will give easy access to the termites.

To give your kitchen an updated and decorative look, try adding a bar stool. It can help save space as well as make your kitchen look more trendy than usual. To help you choose which bar stool to pick, review the following tips.

Measure the area

The most fundamental step in choosing for a bar stool is measuring the area in the kitchen in which you would place the new stools. Bar stools come in different widths and heights, and the right measurements are needed to check whether if it is too high or too low for those who would sit in it. Also, measure with respect to the height of the table or counter and maintain an appropriate distance of about at least 10 inches away from the base of the table or bar to allow guests to assume a comfortable sitting position.

Decide on the quantity

Choose how many stools you want to add to your kitchen. If you cater to a lot of guests in your house, you can have as many as a dozen stools. Consider the spacing and positioning of each stool, allow at least 30 inches distance from each seat. The proper placement provides room for the guests to move freely while sitting. This measurement though is dependent on the size of the stools; bulk stools take much more space so that an additional distance might be needed. Have the gap in each seat uniform as much as possible.

Choose the design

Select the style of the stool you desire. You can ask help from decorating experts on the trendy designs that you wish to have for your kitchen. There are many styles and designs for stools available, so you would not have much of a problem choosing the ones that you would prefer. You can have seats with varied colors, or you can have them in patterns with the color theme of your kitchen. Some tips that can help you select are choosing whether to have a stool with arms, stools that can swivel, what material it is, and which theme you would like to apply.

Check for the quality

The more durable the material of the stools, the less maintenance you would need. Always go for quality over price. Check if the bar stools are safe and well-secured for the guests. Also, consider if it is easy to clean and does not get stained easily.

Visit a furniture store today to look at some kitchen stool options and even try them to see what you like.
